Yngwie Malmsteen Announces New Album, Unveils “Now or Never”: Stream
Guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen has announced a new studio album, *Hell or High Water*, due for release on 13 November via Music Theories Recordings/Artone Label Group. It marks his first record in roughly five years, the longest gap between studio albums in his four-decade career, and arrives alongside the release of the lead single "Now or Never".
The new single blends melodic songwriting with taut riffing and characteristically dazzling shred sections, delivered in a style Malmsteen has cultivated since his early days with Steeler and Alcatrazz. He said he wrote the album over eight months during the pandemic, whittling around 80 to 90 tracks down to the final selection, and revealed that the closing song, "Father", is dedicated to his father, who died last year.
