Yo La Tengo has cancelled tickets believed to have been bought by scalpers and bots for its annual Hanukkah benefit concerts in New York, after the initial pre-sale left many fans unable to buy them. The band and Bowery Ballroom are replacing the sale with a lottery intended to distribute tickets more fairly and discourage resale purchases.

The eight shows are scheduled for 4–11 December at Bowery Ballroom and traditionally feature guests and surprises while raising money for charity. Fans can request up to two tickets per show through Ticketmaster Request until 11:59pm EDT on 2 August, with successful applicants notified by 4 August; further tickets will be sold at Brooklyn record shop Record Grouch from noon on 5 August.
