Yorkshire Wildlife Park has shared footage of a golden lion tamarin exploring its new home in the Amazonas walk-through reserve near Doncaster. The arrival is significant because the species is endangered, and the park says the display is intended to help visitors understand the need for conservation.

Golden lion tamarins are small Brazilian primates recognised by their reddish-golden fur and swept-back mane. The park welcomed the species alongside silvery marmosets, with the immersive reserve housing South American animals; conservation programmes helped recover the tamarin population after it fell to around 200 animals in the wild.
