You can complete medieval vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker even quicker than previously thought – before even the prologue ends

Eurogamer · 2 months ago

Eurogamer reports that Rebel Wolves' forthcoming medieval vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker can be finished remarkably early, thanks to its freeform design. Building on an earlier report that players could beat the game shortly after the prologue by rushing straight to the main antagonist Brencis, the author now notes it is possible to end the game during the prologue itself, by winning a climactic fight the game expects you to lose. Publisher Bandai Namco confirmed this is a legitimate ending, underscoring how much player agency the studio has built into the experience.

Defeating Brencis at the prologue's climax kills the main villain and ends the game, though it is exceptionally difficult; Bandai Namco said only a couple of developers at Rebel Wolves have managed it internally. The author, who spent four hours with the game, was beaten in roughly two swipes and expects it would take hundreds of attempts and sharp reflexes to prevail. There are other early exits too, such as abandoning the Vale Sangora and not saving your family. Overall the writer was encouraged by the game — praising its time-management system, combat depth and well-written, choice-driven quests — ahead of its release on 3rd September on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.
