You can now play SNES Doom with modern dual analogue controls thanks to Blueretro dev
A developer working on the BlueRetro wireless-controller adapter has enabled modern dual-analogue controls for Doom on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The change makes the 1995 SNES port more comfortable to play with contemporary gamepads, updating its controls without altering the original hardware or game.
The project maps two analogue sticks to movement and aiming, bringing the SNES version closer to the control scheme expected in modern first-person shooters. It relies on BlueRetro’s ability to connect modern Bluetooth controllers to older consoles and customise their inputs, offering a new option for retro-gaming enthusiasts.
