You can now watch classic movies like The Martian, E.T. and Zodiac on Apple TV
Apple TV has added around 20 established films, including The Martian, E.T., Titanic and Zodiac, to its subscription streaming catalogue. The move is unusual for a service chiefly associated with original productions, and could help it attract and retain subscribers by offering recognisable library titles alongside its own series.
The films were previously generally available through the Apple TV Store only as purchases or rentals, but are now marked “Just Added” for subscribers. Apple TV costs $12.99 per month or $99 annually, with a seven-day trial available; Apple has not said why it added the films or how long they will remain included.
