You Should See Sony’s Zelda Movie During Tomorrow’s Anniversary Direct
Nintendo is holding a 40th Anniversary Direct for The Legend of Zelda, and reports suggest it will include the first proper trailer for Sony Pictures' upcoming live-action Zelda film. The Direct is expected to focus mainly on the previously announced Ocarina of Time remake, but Nintendo has confirmed the broadcast will cover "a variety of Zelda-related information", and fans have noted that Nintendo recently registered a website domain for the movie, fuelling speculation that footage is imminent.
The film, directed by Wes Ball and produced by Shigeru Miyamoto alongside Avi Arad, stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda, with principal photography having wrapped earlier this year. It is scheduled for release on 30th April 2027, while the Ocarina of Time remake is rumoured to arrive on Switch 2 in November, alongside GTA 6.
