Young Miko has spoken about the influence of queer representation in Latin music, crediting fellow Puerto Rican singer Kany García as a key figure who helped pave the way before her. In an interview with ELLE México about being seen as a queer role model, Miko said seeing García come out was "super important" to her, and their bond later extended into music. This matters because it highlights how visibility from earlier artists shapes newer generations, and shows Miko becoming increasingly aware of her own influence as a role model within the LGBTQ+ community.

In 2024, the pair collaborated on the track "En Esta Boca" from García's album GARCÍA, blending her singer-songwriter style with Miko's urban sound. Miko also described meeting a 10-year-old fan backstage who attended her concert with her two mothers, an encounter that underlined for her how much representation matters to young fans, while acknowledging she cannot represent an entire community alone. She is currently touring in support of her third studio album, Do Not Disturb, released earlier this year.
