Your Shot, the beginner-friendly DJ academy and competition, is returning to the US for a second season in 2026, expanding from its original two cities to four by adding Denver and Miami alongside returning stops in Los Angeles and New York. The programme, founded in Australia in 2010, takes complete newcomers through a structured course and live showcase, aiming to launch the next generation of touring DJs, and it follows a strong debut US season that drew significant grassroots and industry interest.

Participants spend six weeks at "The Academy" learning mixing, music selection and performance from professionals before competing in showcase weekends in front of crowds, industry figures and talent scouts. The 2025 season saw more than 500 first-timers take part, with showcases in Los Angeles and New York attracting over 10,000 attendees combined; winners Jelly Bean and Punky Butter are now set to play CRSSD Festival and Elements Music & Arts Festival. For 2026, AlphaTheta and new partner Sony are supplying professional equipment, an advisory board including LP Giobbi and Vibee's Harvey Cohen is backing the programme, prizes include slots at F1 Las Vegas and Insomniac's EDSea, and more than 8,300 people have already pre-registered ahead of selection events running from 22 August.
