YouTube announces AI feeds, episodic Shorts and GIF comments
YouTube has announced new tools designed to make content discovery, viewing and interaction more personalised. Users in the US will soon be able to create AI-generated custom feeds around interests or moods, while creators can organise Shorts into episodic series, potentially making microdramas easier to follow.
The platform will also introduce searchable GIF comments globally on mobile, voice-to-text commenting on supported TVs and expanded shopping assistance through Ask YouTube. YouTube Music is adding AI features for artist information, queue management and podcast recommendations, while Coachella streaming rights have been extended through 2030 and live auto-dubbing will be piloted in English and Spanish from early 2027.
