Yung Lean and Gener8ion made their MTV Video Music Awards debut on 27 September, performing their viral "Storm" visual as the final act of the evening at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The performance brought their mesmerising seven-minute short film to life on stage, featuring Lean as an intimidating bully in a 2034 boarding school setting, with reimagined choreography that created a hallucinatory effect through synchronised dancing.

The "Storm" music video, directed by Romain Gavras and released in April, has amassed over 26 million views online and earned four nominations at the VMAs: video of the year, best choreography, best direction and best long-form video. The performance concluded with Lean spitting on the camera lens and wiping it with ice cream. Both "Storm I" and "Storm II" appear on Gener8ion's album Love & Tears, released in June.
