Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a 1998 video game for the Nintendo 64 that became one of the most acclaimed and influential games ever made. The player controls a character named Link as he journeys through a fantasy world, and Epona is a horse companion Link rides during the adventure. The game remains extremely popular with both original players and those discovering it through re-releases and emulation decades later.
Lego has partnered with Nintendo to create building sets featuring characters and scenes from the Zelda series. These sets allow fans to build recreations from the games using interlocking bricks, with prices and piece counts varying depending on complexity. Such merchandise partnerships are standard practice for major entertainment franchises, providing an additional revenue stream and reaching audiences beyond those who engage with the original product.
Video game publishers often revisit classic titles by developing remakes that update graphics and gameplay for modern hardware. Nintendo recently announced a remake of Ocarina of Time for its upcoming Switch 2 console. New merchandise releases frequently accompany such remakes as publishers seek to capitalise on renewed interest in established franchises.
