Zelda OOT Remake: All Empty Bottle locations
The Nintendo Switch 2 remake of *The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time* adds a fifth Empty Bottle and changes how players can obtain some of them. The bottles carry items, creatures and substances, and the extra one can make later collection tasks easier.
Players can get bottles by catching a bug for the Castle Town Potion Shop keeper, winning Talon’s Cucco game at Lon Lon Ranch, gathering seven Cuccos in Kakariko Village, and retrieving Princess Ruto’s message from Lake Hylia. The fifth is earned by selling five Big Poes, down from ten in the original game; players need Epona and the Fairy Bow to find them around Hyrule Field.
In short
- The remake includes five Empty Bottles, one more than the original.
- Four come from quests in Castle Town, Lon Lon Ranch, Kakariko and Lake Hylia.
- Selling five Big Poes earns the final bottle.
Explained simply
In Ocarina of Time, players guide Link through Hyrule, a kingdom where people and places hold clues and useful items. Empty Bottles are reusable containers: they can carry things such as potions, insects or messages, and can help with tasks during the adventure.
The bottles come from several characters and challenges across Hyrule, including games involving Cuccos, the chicken-like birds found around the kingdom. Big Poes are larger ghosts that appear in Hyrule Field; finding them requires Epona, Link’s horse, and the Fairy Bow, a weapon used to shoot arrows.
The number of bottles matters because carrying more items gives players extra room for exploration and later tasks. The remake’s fifth bottle also changes how many Big Poes players need to trade in compared with the original game.
