Zelda OOT Remake: Fishing Pond and Sinking Lure explained, all rewards
The Fishing Pond in the Ocarina of Time remake offers an optional fishing activity with rewards for catching large fish. Reaching the size targets earns items that can help Link explore further.
After paying a small fee at the pond on Lake Hylia, players cast and wiggle their line, hook a biting fish with ZR, then guide the line in the direction it swims to avoid a break. Catching a fish at least 50cm long unlocks the Sinking Lure in later sessions, though fish caught with it cannot be kept and earn no rewards. Child Link gets a Piece of Heart for a 50cm catch; Adult Link earns the Golden Scale for a 60cm catch, which enables deeper diving and leads to another Piece of Heart from the laboratory scientist.
In short
- Catch a 50cm fish as Child Link for a Piece of Heart.
- A 60cm catch as Adult Link earns the Golden Scale.
- The Sinking Lure helps catch big fish but offers no rewards.
