Zelda OOT Remake: Scarecrow Song explained, how to get and use it
The Scarecrow’s Song is a hidden, player-created tune in *The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time*. Learning it lets Adult Link summon Pierre at marked locations, where the Hookshot can reach otherwise awkward shortcuts.
As Child Link, play six to eight notes for Bonooru at Lake Hylia and make a note of the tune. Return as Adult Link and play the same song to add it to the Song Book. In the Switch 2 remake, a swirl of straw and music notes signals places where it can be used; one nearby example gives access to the Fishing Hole before Lake Hylia is filled.
In short
- Create a six to eight note tune as Child Link.
- Repeat it for Bonooru as Adult Link to learn the song.
- Use it at musical swirls to summon Pierre for a Hookshot route.
Explained simply
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time follows Link at two stages of his life: as a child and, later, as an adult. The ocarina is a musical instrument used to play tunes that can open paths or trigger effects in the world.
Bonooru is a scarecrow by Lake Hylia who remembers a tune the player makes up. Link can learn that tune as a child and add it to his Song Book when he returns as an adult. Playing it at certain marked spots calls Pierre, another scarecrow, whose position can help Link use the Hookshot to reach places he could not otherwise access.
These shortcuts can open alternate routes through the game. In the Switch 2 remake, visual signs identify places where the tune works, including one route to the Fishing Hole before Lake Hylia is filled.
