US President Donald Trump held separate meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, with the White House calling both encounters "positive and productive". The two leaders were in the capital for the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham, a prominent advocate for both Israel and US support for Ukraine, and used the visit to press Trump on separate conflicts: Ukraine's air defence needs against Russia, and tensions over Israel's approach to Iran and Lebanon.

Zelensky said Trump had agreed to grant Ukraine licences to produce Patriot interceptor missiles domestically, following a pledge Trump made at this month's Nato summit, though the White House did not officially confirm this. Ukraine, which has requested 25 Patriot systems to counter Russian drone and ballistic missile strikes, sees the missiles—costing $3m to $5m each—as vital, while domestic production could also boost Zelensky's standing after recent protests. Zelensky also met lawmakers shortly before the Senate voted to sanction buyers of Russian oil and gas. Netanyahu's talks, meanwhile, came amid strained US-Israel relations over Israeli strikes in Lebanon, though both sides described the meeting positively.
