Zendaya to Star in Alex Garland Sci-Fi Film at A24
Zendaya has joined an untitled science-fiction film that Alex Garland will write and direct for A24. The project, due to begin filming in 2027, reunites Zendaya and A24 and marks Garland’s return to science fiction; its story is being kept secret.
The film adds to Zendaya’s work with A24 on “Euphoria” and “The Drama”, which earned almost $135 million worldwide. Garland has made several films with the studio, including “Ex Machina” and “Civil War”, and is working on its “Elden Ring” adaptation, scheduled for release in March 2028. His new film may delay a third “28 Years Later”: Danny Boyle has said Garland wrote a script for it, but the project is on the back burner while Garland works on “Elden Ring”.
