Mexican filmmaker Alex Kahuam, known for his work in indie horror, has signed with Zero Gravity Management, joining the roster of agent David Romero. Kahuam has directed and written several genre features, including Failure! and Forgiveness, both of which screened at genre festivals, and his most recent film, The Remedy, which played SXSW London and the Cannes Fantastic Pavilion. The move marks a step up for the director as he seeks representation to help transition from independent films to larger productions and wider audiences.

Kahuam's current project, the horror-slasher House of Holloway, wrapped production in February and is now in post-production ahead of a festival run next year; it stars Laura Marano, Doug Jones, Orlando Piñeda, Courtney Grace and Bonnie Aarons in a story about a family of serial killers competing to claim victims among six guests at their secluded home. He has two further projects lined up through his own company, Kahuam Films: supernatural psychological horror Stay With Me, set at a music festival, and an untitled sci-fi horror described as being "in the vein of Alien". Kahuam said he has made independent films for 14 years and hopes his experience, combined with Romero's track record with Hollywood studios, will help him reach bigger films.
