Zoe Saldaña’s Surprisingly Faithful 2-Part Horror Adaptation Is Officially Streaming for Free

Collider · 3 hours ago

A 2014 NBC television miniseries adaptation of Rosemary's Baby, starring Zoe Saldaña, is now streaming for free on Tubi. The two-part remake updates Roman Polanski's 1968 horror classic with a modern sensibility, and while it doesn't surpass the original, it is praised as a faithful and thoughtful reimagining rather than a lesser retread, unlike other spin-offs such as Look What's Happened to Rosemary's Baby and Paramount+'s 2024 prequel Apartment 7A.

The miniseries recasts Rosemary as a former dancer supporting her novelist husband, Guy, played by Patrick J. Adams, and relocates the story from New York to Paris after the couple suffer a miscarriage. This shift gives Rosemary's growing dependence on those around her, including Jason Isaacs' Roman and Carole Bouquet's Margaux, a more grounded justification than in the original, while Paris's Gothic architecture and history lend the story fresh atmosphere. The adaptation is also noted for being younger, bloodier and more overtly supernatural than Polanski's film.
