Four-division world champion Shakur Stevenson has signed with Zuffa Boxing, the promotion confirmed by its president Dana White. The move is significant as it strengthens the Saudi-backed venture's roster as it seeks to challenge boxing's established promoters, and it sets up a potential blockbuster fight with Britain's Conor Benn, who is also on the promotion's books.

Stevenson, a 29-year-old American, is unbeaten in all 25 of his professional bouts, most recently defeating Teofimo Lopez in February for the WBO light-welterweight belt, and has previously held world titles at lightweight, featherweight and super-featherweight, as well as bantamweight silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Zuffa Boxing, founded by White, first drew attention by signing Benn from Eddie Hearn's Matchroom stable, and has since added several fighters including IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia, who was stripped of his title after joining. It remains unclear whether Stevenson will lose his belts, as White seeks to amend the US Muhammad Ali Reform Act to run a UFC-style model acting as both promoter and sanctioning body.
