The Skinner Brothers: SOUL BOY V, a 20-track live album, and a Ren team-up

The Skinner Brothers – the fiercely independent London band fronted by Zachary Skinner – have been on a tear. Formed in 2018 and entirely self-produced with no label behind them, they fold punk, drum & bass and rap into a jangling indie-rock core.

Their latest studio album, SOUL BOY V (released 23 July 2025), runs to twelve tracks including “GOLD TEEF”, “SLEEP WHEN I’M DEAD” and “LONELY HEAD”. They followed it in February 2026 with 25 To Live, a twenty-track live album captured in London and dressed up with brass and mellotron.

In between came one of 2025’s more unexpected collaborations: Sick Sick Soul (Vol. 1), a six-track EP made with Welsh artist Ren that blends drum & bass, funk, reggae and ambient textures across cuts like “CTRL ALT DELETE” and “Truth or Dare”.
