Trivium guitarist Corey Beaulieu and bassist Paolo Gregoletto have discussed the band's upcoming studio album in a new interview with Czech outlet Metalshop TV, describing it as a fresh chapter for the group. The record will be Trivium's first to feature drummer Alex Rüdinger, formerly of Whitechapel, who joined last October after replacing Alex Bent, and the pair say the new material marks something of a reinvention while still sounding recognisably like the band.

The album remains without a firm release date, with the musicians pointing to record label logistics and manufacturing lead times for vinyl as factors still to be resolved, though they expect it to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027. It will follow 2021's "In The Court Of The Dragon", meaning a five-year gap that Beaulieu attributed partly to disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, contrasting with the band's earlier pattern of releasing albums roughly every two to three years. Both musicians said early listeners have reacted with surprise, and that the extra time allowed the band to focus on songwriting quality, aided by what they described as unexpectedly strong chemistry after Rüdinger's arrival.
