My Friend the Porn Star is a German documentary by director and performer Rosa Friedrich that departed significantly from its initial premise. Friedrich originally set out to film her friend Timo acting out exhibitionist fantasies, but when Timo withdrew from the project unexpectedly, she redirected the work toward her own artistic vision. To incorporate footage already shot, she employed deepfake technology to replace Timo's head with an actor's whilst preserving other footage, creating an unconventional visual approach.

The final film evolved into a broader exploration of desire and sexuality, featuring contributions from a diverse range of women—including a dominatrix, a non-binary content creator, and multiple trans women in a relationship—discussing their own erotic interests. Friedrich structured the work around themes of self-disclosure and concealment, examining how people negotiate between revealing and hiding aspects of themselves.
