The opportunity arose after Shakira launched a "Dai Dai" dance contest tied to her World Cup anthem; Bedard, who had already begun filming a concept video with fellow dancers at Santa Monica Pier before the contest was even announced, posted her clip and was reposted by Shakira within two days, earning an invitation to perform. On 19 July, moments before Spain was crowned champion, Bedard and a group of dancers joined Shakira and Burna Boy on the field in matching yellow and orange dresses to perform "Dai Dai" live, an experience she called surreal and historic, adding she hopes it opens further doors in both dance and her aspiring singing career.
