Man Utd bring in Leicester goalkeeper Leitzig

BBC Sport · 5 hours ago

Manchester United have signed goalkeeper Janina Leitzig from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee, strengthening their squad ahead of the new Women’s Super League season. The move gives United an experienced 27-year-old goalkeeper, while Leicester lose another player following their relegation from the WSL.

Leitzig is believed to have agreed a three-year contract after United activated a release clause in her Leicester deal, and she will wear number 25. She made nearly 70 appearances during three years at Leicester, having initially joined on loan from Bayern Munich; Chelsea also signed Leicester’s 18-year-old England youth international Nelly Las for an undisclosed release-clause fee.
