Steam is offering a limited free trial of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Version from 24 to 27 July, allowing players to try the original 3D entry in Konami’s espionage series on modern PC hardware. The promotion coincides with discounts on the first Master Collection and arrives shortly before the second volume’s release, making it an opportunity for newcomers and returning players to revisit the series.

The collection includes the original Metal Gear Solid, its VR and special missions, plus the earlier Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake titles, alongside digital screenplay and reference books. The first game’s main story takes roughly 11 hours, while other Steam free trials that weekend include Icarus, Killing Floor 3, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite and Unrailed 2: Back on Track; Yet Another Zombie Defense HD is free to keep.
