World of Warcraft is actually adding viral, stumpy raccoon Jimothy as an in-game pet

Destructoid · 4 hours ago

Blizzard has announced that Jimothy, a raccoon from Seattle that became viral online because of his unusually short and round appearance, will be added to World of Warcraft as a pet. The move brings a real-world internet sensation into Azeroth, but has also prompted calls for any related sales to support wildlife charities or animal sanctuaries.

Jimothy has short-spine syndrome, a congenital condition that gives him his distinctive stumpy shape, and has been repeatedly sighted in Seattle’s Ballard neighbourhood. Blizzard shared a brief in-game video on 24 July 2026 and said the pet was “coming soon”, although it has not yet disclosed pricing, availability or whether proceeds will support charitable causes.

  • Viral Seattle raccoon Jimothy is coming to World of Warcraft.
  • Blizzard has not revealed release or pricing details.
  • Fans hope sales could support wildlife charities.
