While the overall silhouette closely mirrors the source material, the MCU version introduces several practical and stylistic tweaks. A samurai-inspired chest plate has been added, echoing Doom's upgraded armour from the 1984 Secret Wars comic, while gold shoulder rondels and glove patterning may represent mystic runes tied to Doom's magical heritage. Functional changes include leather-palmed gloves in place of full metal gauntlets and metal boot plating that only starts at the knee, adjustments likely made to keep the costume wearable on set for Downey Jr and his stunt doubles.
