Ex-ACCEPT Bassist PETER BALTES Hospitalized In Germany After Suffering Three Rib Fractures In ‘Serious Fall’ From Stage (Video)

Blabbermouth · 4 hours ago

Peter Baltes, the former bassist of the metal band ACCEPT who spent over three decades with the group before departing in 2018, sustained serious injuries during a stage fall at a concert in rural Germany. The accident occurred during DIRKSCHNEIDER's performance at Pyraser Classic Rock Night, a brewery venue in the Thalmässing district, resulting in three fractured ribs that required hospitalisation in Nuremberg. The musician, now 68, has been receiving treatment and is expected to have a lengthy recovery period.

The incident was attributed by the band to inadequate safety provisions on the stage, with guitarist Alen Brentini suffering similar injuries from a fall during the same performance. Despite the severity of the circumstances, Brentini was able to resume performing with bruising and other injuries, whilst Baltes remains hospitalised with more serious complications. The band announced its intention to proceed with upcoming tour dates despite these setbacks, whilst expressing support for the injured musicians.
