Tom Holland has previewed "Spider-Man: Brand New Day", describing the fourth instalment in his run as the web-slinger as tonally darker and more mature than its predecessors. Speaking to Deadline at the film's Los Angeles premiere, he said the change in tone reflects themes he believes will strongly resonate with younger audiences, marking a deliberate shift for the Sony and Marvel franchise.

Holland explained that the story centres on Peter Parker moving to a new city and grappling with isolation, alongside the risk of overlooking those closest to him. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and also stars Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo. Its plot follows Parker fighting crime full-time in a world that has forgotten him as Spider-Man, while facing a powerful, unseen new villain; the film is set to open in cinemas on 31 July 2026.
