MSG Networks and the YES Network are shutting down the widely criticised Gotham Sports app, striking a deal that makes British streaming firm DAZN the exclusive direct-to-consumer home for their channels. The move matters for New York sports fans, as Gotham Sports had been plagued by bugs, buffering, lagging streams and persistent login issues, despite charging premium subscription prices.

Under the new arrangement, DAZN will carry 24/7 feeds of MSG, MSG Sportsnet and YES, covering teams including the New York Yankees, Knicks, Rangers, Nets, Islanders, Devils and Buffalo Sabres, alongside on-demand highlights and original content. The switch begins with the 2026-27 NBA and NHL seasons, with migration details to follow in the coming months; existing cable subscribers will get MSG and YES via DAZN at no extra cost, while standalone DAZN pricing is expected to be similar to Gotham's previous rates (up to $299.99 a year for a combined package). DAZN, which launched in the US in 2018, said the deal marks a major step in expanding its American footprint.
