Charli XCX Gives Music, Fashion, Film Songs Their Live Debuts At Nashville Spotify Show
Charli XCX performed several songs from her new album, Music, Fashion, Film, live in Nashville at a Spotify event, offering an early indication of how the more introspective material may translate to larger venues. The show matters because she is due to headline Lollapalooza and begin an arena tour with Underscores, following the huge success of Brat.
At the Basement East on 29 July, Charli gave five songs their live debuts: “Yeah”, “Magic Metal Montana”, “Card Declined”, “2007” and “No One Lasts Forever”. Her 15-song set also included older tracks such as “Apple”, “party 4 u”, “anthems” and “pink diamond”; she performed with a live band, though David Cronenberg did not appear for his spoken-word contribution to “No One Lasts Forever”.
