World number one Nelly Korda recovered strongly from a difficult opening round at the Women’s Open, shooting a three-under-par 68 in the second round. The performance restored her position in contention and sets up a weekend challenge at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

Korda’s second-round score moved her to one under par overall, five shots behind leader Haeran Ryu. Ryu is seeking a third consecutive major title, while Korda’s improvement came after her struggles on the tournament’s opening day.
