A grassroots football club in south Wales, Cwmbran Celtic AFC, has partnered with four bands, including Super Furry Animals, for its 2026/27 season kits, in an initiative linking grassroots football with grassroots music. Panic Shack, Mogwai and Loose Articles will also feature on the men's and women's first-team home and away shirts, with organisers saying both scenes face similar struggles to attract audiences and sustain themselves on tight budgets.

The idea came from commercial managers Matt Jarrett and Connor Cupples, who had previously worked with Super Furry Animals and reached out to bands through personal contacts while discussing the project over drinks. Profits from shirt sales will mostly fund the Torfaen club's teams, which include six senior sides, veterans, walking football and junior sections, while 10% will go to the Music Venue Trust, a charity supporting UK grassroots music venues. Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys referenced the band's history with Cwmbran, having had their giant inflatable bears repaired there over the years.
