Grouper Side Project Helen Return With New Album Linda’s Head: Hear Two Songs
Grouper's Liz Harris is reviving Helen, her indie pop side project with Scott Simmons (Eat Skull) and Jed Bindeman (Eternal Tapestry), which has been dormant since its 2015 debut. The trio has announced a new album, Linda's Head, marking their return after more than a decade of silence and giving fans a fresh dose of Harris's reverb-heavy songwriting outside of her main Grouper output.
Helen formed in 2013 and released their debut album, The Original Faces, in 2015, blending shoegaze-influenced, reverb-drenched pop with Harris's distinctive echo-laden vocals. Linda's Head, a ten-track follow-up, is due out on 8 October via Kranky, with two songs, the title track and "Dead Shark II", released alongside the announcement.
