PRONG Shares New Single ‘The Banner’ From Upcoming Self-Titled Album

Blabbermouth · 5 hours ago

New York alternative metal veterans PRONG have released "The Banner", the lead single and opening track from their forthcoming self-titled album, their debut for Napalm Records. The song serves as the first preview of the record and matters as a milestone in the band's near four-decade career, marking what frontman Tommy Victor describes as a fresh chapter with a new label and a heavier, faster sound.

The self-titled album, mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap, is due out on 6th November and contains 11 tracks blending industrial, thrash, alternative rock and New York hardcore influences. Formed in the late 1980s at CBGB alongside acts such as Gorilla Biscuits, Madball, Sick Of It All and Biohazard, PRONG became known for records including "Beg To Differ" (1990) and "Cleansing" (1994) and regular appearances at festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Alcatraz and Brutal Assault; Victor has called the new record potentially the band's best and best-sounding album to date.
