Cancelled after just two seasons, the show is being highlighted as an underappreciated gem whose themes of human connection and globe-spanning storyline still make it worth watching nearly a decade on.

The series was created by Lana and Lily Wachowski, best known for The Matrix, alongside Straczynski, whose credits include Babylon 5 and writing for The Amazing Spider-Man and Superman: Earth One. Sense8 follows eight strangers scattered across the globe, played by actors including Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Tuppence Middleton and Miguel Ángel Silvestre, who discover they are mentally and emotionally linked as "sensates" despite never having met.
