The interview highlights her insistence on singing in Portuguese rather than English, reflecting a wider shift in global music where non-English-language artists such as Bad Bunny and Rosalía have found major international success without compromising on language.

EBONY, speaking from Paris, discussed her place within Brazilian rap's male-dominated history, noting that Spotify Brazil recognised her as the first woman to make the type of songs she performs. She also addressed the backlash to her track "Espero Que Entendam" ("I Hope You Understand"), a pointed response to male rappers' fans rather than an attack on named artists, several of whom she says remain friends. She additionally referenced Brazilian music forerunners such as Bebel Gilberto, Suba and Tom Jobim, crediting them with paving the way for her international ambitions despite operating in a very different, pre-internet era.
