Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix before appearing free on YouTube and the game’s official website. The decision has prompted criticism from fans who view temporary paid early access to promotional material as an unnecessary subscription barrier, while others note that the footage will become widely available later the same day.

Netflix subscribers will be able to watch the presentation on 27 August at 3pm Eastern Time, with its YouTube and website release scheduled six hours later at 9pm Eastern Time. Rockstar has not confirmed exactly what the extended look will contain, though fans expect substantial new footage or gameplay; GTA VI is currently due to launch on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
