The drone was found near Ukrainian Antonov cargo aircraft on Tuesday night, leading to the closure of one runway while bomb disposal teams removed its detonator; investigators are also examining whether a DHL aircraft struck a second drone. A 2024 investigation uncovered an alleged Russian military intelligence proxy network that moved explosives, detonators and drone components across Europe, with nearly two dozen suspects charged, although their alleged handlers are thought to remain in Russia.
