BBC NI to remain home of Irish Premiership coverage
BBC Sport Northern Ireland has agreed a new three-year broadcasting deal with the Irish FA and Northern Ireland Football League, preserving extensive free-to-air coverage of domestic and international football. The arrangement matters because it keeps Irish Premiership matches, cup competitions and Northern Ireland women’s internationals widely available across television, streaming, radio and digital platforms.
BBC Sport NI will stream 30 BoyleSports Premiership matches each season, beginning with Cliftonville v Crusaders on 7 August, and will show 10 senior Northern Ireland women’s internationals. It will also broadcast the Irish Cup and BetMcLean Cup finals live, provide Irish Cup streams from the fifth round, retain radio commentary and highlights coverage, and follows the BBC securing rights to every Northern Ireland men’s international until June 2028.
- BBC NI secures three more years of football coverage.
