DIIV have released the ominous new single ‘The Fountain’ and officially announced their fifth album, ‘ZIRP!’, due on 30 October through Fantasy Recordings. Produced by A.G. Cook, the record is framed around themes including Palantir, societal collapse and the pressures of streaming, and marks a move towards capturing the band’s live sound.

Cook said he rejected an initially planned remix-like approach in favour of recording live drums, detailed guitar parts and minimal computer processing. ‘ZIRP!’ contains 11 tracks and follows DIIV’s 2024 album ‘Frog In Boiling Water’; the band will tour North and South America and Europe from September to November 2026, including London’s Pitchfork Music Festival on 7 November.
