Chicago rapper Defcee and New York producer Steel Tipped Dove have released their collaborative album, We Will Be Brief, through Backwoodz Studioz. The record brings together two artists associated with the experimental underground rap scene around billy woods’ Backwoodz label, pairing Defcee’s dense lyricism with Steel Tipped Dove’s abrasive, unconventional production.

The album runs for under 30 minutes, reflecting its deliberately concise title while still featuring a substantial amount of writing and production detail. Guests include Fatboi Sharif, PremRock, Curly Castro and billy woods, and tracks include “Tom Waits Type Beat” and “Science Project Pat”; it is available now.
