KATSEYE’s Sophia Laforteza announces hiatus to focus on “mental health”
KATSEYE singer Sophia Laforteza has announced a temporary hiatus from the group to prioritise her mental health and recovery. The decision means she will miss upcoming promotional activities, underlining the pressures faced by performers and the label’s stated commitment to artists’ health and long-term wellbeing.
Laforteza said she was heartbroken to miss performances but felt she needed to care for her mind and body to continue doing what she loves. HYBE x Geffen Records said medical professionals had advised extended rest and ongoing care; the hiatus follows Manon Bannerman’s health-related break six months earlier, from which she has not yet returned. KATSEYE’s EP ‘WILD’ is due on 14 August, ahead of its 2026 UK, European and North American ‘WILDWORLD’ tour.
