Developer Aggro Crab has confirmed that its co-op climbing game Peak will receive its final major update on 11th August, alongside a teaser trailer titled "The Final Ascent". The update marks a significant milestone for the indie hit, which became one of publisher Landfall's string of multi-million-selling titles alongside Content Warning and Totally Accurate Battlegrounds.

The update will see the variant biomes Gloom and the Citadel cycle out in favour of Caldera and The Kiln, and will include an unspecified "new secret" for players to find. Peak is available now on Steam and has proven successful enough to spawn numerous clones, prompting Aggro Crab to say it would rather fans pirate the original than pay for a "microtransaction-riddled" imitation.
