The crossover underscores Fortnite's continued strategy of blending major gaming, film and pop culture icons into a single shared universe, reinforcing its position as one of the most extensive cross-media collaborations in gaming.

Beyond Sonic, data miners and leakers suggest the new season could feature characters from several other beloved franchises, including Kingdom Hearts, Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, Persona 5 and Vampire Survivors. Epic Games has not officially confirmed these additional collaborations, though Fortnite's own teasers point to a season built around a broad "gaming legends" theme.
