Lucy Davis, best known for playing Dawn Tinsley in the original UK version of The Office, alongside roles in Wonder Woman and Shaun of the Dead, has revealed she has terminal cancer. The actor shared the news in an Instagram post on 11 August 2026, saying the illness is incurable and no longer treatable with chemotherapy, prompting an outpouring of support from fans and fellow actors including Piers Morgan and Jenna Fischer.

Davis explained she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in early 2025 after noticing a small, easily overlooked hard spot, which has since spread to her bones, spine, right hip and ribs. She said humour and being treated normally by loved ones have been vital to her, that she feels at peace with what lies ahead, and that she intends to keep working on animal rights causes, though she now sometimes needs a wheelchair for mobility.
