DC has confirmed that Nathan Fillion will reprise his role as Green Lantern Guy Gardner in the forthcoming animated series Mister Miracle. The appearance extends Fillion’s involvement in James Gunn’s interconnected DC universe and reflects the studio’s approach of using the same actors across live-action and animation.

Fillion first played the abrasive Green Lantern in Superman, where Gardner led the Justice Gang, and later appeared in Peacemaker’s second season. He is also due to feature in HBO’s Lanterns alongside Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart, as well as next summer’s Man of Tomorrow; Mister Miracle creator Tom King said Fillion’s energetic portrayal suits the animated series despite its different tone.
