ANBERLIN Announces New Album ‘Currency’, Shares ‘Neverafter’ Single

Blabbermouth · 4 hours ago

American alternative rock band Anberlin have announced their ninth studio album, "Currency," marking the first full-length record to feature Matty Mullins as lead vocalist. Due for release later this year, the album builds on 2024's "Vega," on which Mullins made his recording debut on two tracks, and represents a significant new chapter for a band with a career spanning nearly 25 years. The band also shared the lead single, "Neverafter," along with an accompanying music video.

The eleven-track album was produced by the band with Kellen McGregor of Memphis May Fire and explores themes of heartbreak, addiction and self-reinvention, with Mullins describing it as a journey through loss towards healing. Standout tracks include "Neverafter," "Highstakes" and "Trenches," the latter featuring Switchfoot. Anberlin will support the release with an extensive North American tour alongside Switchfoot, running from September through October, taking in cities including Nashville, Chicago, Boston and Denver.
