Stereogum has shared the London-based band Sorry's new single "Tom Will Smack Your Ass," a deliberately absurd, tongue-in-cheek track released ahead of the group's performance at this weekend's Green Man Festival. Writer Tom Breihan uses the piece to jokingly distance himself from the song's titular "Tom," a caricatured villain figure the band's press release describes as a mockery of a familiar British archetype, while noting the track's crude lyrical content about the character's exploits.

The song follows Sorry's acclaimed 2025 album "Cosplay" and two further tracks, "Billy Elliot" and "Alone In Cologne," released in February 2026. Frontwoman Asha Lorenz co-directed the accompanying music video with Flo Webb, which features slow-motion footage of people being smacked on the backside; Lorenz jokingly confirmed that "no bums were harmed" during filming.
